Dear Chamber Members,

Uptown Utica secured $4.5 million through New York State’s NY Forward program, and the next big step is almost here. Later this summer, the City will formally kick off an Open Call for Projects, inviting proposals for how that investment gets put to work. Before that happens, we want to hear from you.

The Open Call isn’t expected until late August, which means right now is the moment to start dreaming – and talking – about what Uptown could become. More walkable streets? Outdoor dining? Better public spaces? New local businesses? Every strong project starts with an idea, and community input is shaping the process before a single proposal is submitted.

That’s why the Chamber is asking members and neighbors to take a few minutes for the community survey. You don’t need a business plan or architectural drawings, just your ideas on what would make Uptown a better place to live, work, and visit.

Watch for more details on the Open Call for Projects in the coming weeks. The award is secured — now it’s the community’s turn to help decide how it’s invested.
