MMRI is committed to researching the causes of and novel treatments for diseases such as heart disease, autism, lupus, deep vein thrombosis and many other ailments. To enable MMRI to continue its research, fundraising events such as the 1958 Gala, Lupus Walk and Golf Classic, enable the Institute to gather necessary funding.

 

About MMRI’s events:

1958 Gala – The 1958 Gala is your philanthropic opportunity to support MMRI’s groundbreaking medical research. With the help of its sponsors and eventgoers, the 2nd annual 1958 Gala raised $180,000 for MMRI. The proceeds benefit the organization’s innovative biomedical research in heart disease, lupus, autism, PTSD and more.

Lupus Walk – MMRI invites you to sponsor the Lupus Walk (or run) in support of its lupus research. This devastating autoimmune disease is estimated to affect 1.5 million people in the United States and 120,000 in New York State alone. The MMRI Lupus Walk is an inspiring event that attracts support from a large number of elected officials and media engagement.

Golf Classic – In 2025, thanks to generous donors like you, in combination with our pig roast party, we raised nearly $150,000, in honor of Sal Raspante, a beloved member of the Utica community, who lost his life to a sudden heart attack. The proceeds from this tournament benefit MMRI’s heart disease research, including adult stage heart failure, cardiomyopathy, arrhythmia, thrombosis and more.
