Valley Health Services Receives Health Forward Foundation Grant to Support Certified Nursing Assistant Training
Bassett Healthcare Network’s Valley Health Services has received a grant of $6,519 from the Health Forward Foundation to support its Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training program.
Quarterly CNA courses are held at the facility to advance the careers of those going into the healthcare field. Those graduating from the paid Valley Health Services’ training program are eligible to continue employment with the facility. The program assists the organization in achieving a full complement of qualified CNAs to care for its residents, promoting its goal to provide quality, person-centered care through programs designed to promote health and independence.
“We are very fortunate to have the Health Forward Foundation recognize the importance of our CNA training program, educating students to care for the community’s residents and supporting our request for the educational materials necessary for their course completion,” said Lisa M. Betrus, MBA, LNHA, President of Valley Health and Valley Residential Services and Senior Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer for Bassett Healthcare Network.
The funding will be used to purchase textbooks and assist in acquiring new laptops required for the training program.
Valley Health Services is a 160-bed, long-term care and rehabilitation facility that has been a major health care provider and vital community asset of Herkimer, NY since its founding in 1984.
