The Utica Zoo is proud to announce its participation in this year’s Staffworks Save a Life Campaign, powered by Mohawk Valley Gives, taking place on Friday, September 19, 2025.
Donations can be made online Monday, September 15th through Friday, September 19th. This giving event provides a unique opportunity for the community to support the Zoo’s vital mission of inspiring connections to wildlife through conservation education and fun that matters. With Staffworks generously matching all online donations, every gift has double the impact — no matter the size.
Why Give? Operating the Zoo and caring for its animals comes at a cost of over $7,000 per day. As a not-for-profit organization, the Utica Zoo relies heavily on donations to fund daily operations, enrichment, veterinary care, and habitat upkeep for more than 200 animals — many of which are endangered, threatened, or permanently nonreleasable wildlife.
Accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) and certified by the New York State Department of Education, the Utica Zoo serves not only as a destination for family fun and learning, but also as a sanctuary for vulnerable species.
