The Utica Zoo will be hosting an informational session about their once in a lifetime opportunity to join Executive Director Andria Heath on a November 2020 adventure to Tanzania with Classic Escapes, a leading tourism and boutique travel company specializing in nature and cultural expeditions. The informational session will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at 6:30pm at the Utica Zoo.

The informational session will cover numerous topics including the trip itinerary, what to expect during the trip, and why the Utica Zoo has decided to host this trip along with Classic Escapes. To register for the informational session, please e-mail kyla.grose@uticazoo.org or 315-738-0472 x44. The trip to Tanzania will take place from November 1-12, 2020.

“The Utica Zoo is thrilled to be working with Classic Escapes to host this trip to Tanzania!” said Executive Director Andria Heath. “Not only is this an opportunity for a once in a lifetime adventure, but it is also a chance for our community to see firsthand the animals that we as the zoological and conservation community work so hard to protect in their wild habitats. The animals we care for here at the Utica Zoo are ambassadors for their wild counterparts and to be able to go into the wild and see these animals for ourselves is a wonderful opportunity to bring our story full circle. I hope anyone who is even remotely interested will attend our informational session to learn more about this unique opportunity.”

From Classic Escapes:
“Discover infinite beauty as you follow in the historic footsteps of writers and explorers such as Ernest Hemingway and David Livingstone to Tanzania, where little has changed throughout the centuries. Discover the thrill of spotting wildlife in the wild in Tarangire, Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti: elephant, zebra, giraffe, black rhino, wildebeest and hippo, all under the watchful eyes of leopard, lion, cheetah and hyena. Each evening, share the day’s events while relaxing in luxurious lodges and tented camps. A magical crater, ancient baobab trees, the footsteps of early modern man, herds of beasts and graceful creatures set the scene for an exotic adventure with unforgettable memories.”
