The Dirty Dozen Brass Band to perform “musical gumbo” at Munson Concert in the Court May 18

Grammy-award-winning, New Orleans-based The Dirty Dozen Brass Band will perform the final Concert in the Court for the season at 7:30 p.m. May 18 at Munson in Downtown Utica.

Dubbed by OffBeat Magazine as “arguably the most influential ensemble to emerge in New Orleans over the last 25 years,” The Dirty Dozen Brass Band has taken the traditional foundation of brass band music and incorporated it into a blend of genres including bebop jazz, funk, and R&B/soul. This “musical gumbo” has allowed them to tour across five continents and more than 30 countries, record 12 studio albums and collaborate with a range of artists from Modest Mouse to Widespread Panic to Norah Jones.

Tickets are $23 for Munson Members, $28 for the general public, and $15 for students. For tickets and more information, visit munson.art/CIC/dirty-dozen-brass-band.
