The Neighborhood Center’s CFTSS (Children and Family Treatment and Support Services) program had an inspiring and activity-filled summer through its PSR (Psychosocial Rehabilitation) and CPST (Community Psychiatric Support & Treatment) groups. Youth participants experienced growth, adventure, and stronger community connections while working toward important therapeutic goals.

The groups enjoyed a wide variety of enriching activities, including: fishing, hiking, and go-karting adventures, teamwork-building exercises through sports, money management lessons, and internet safety and healthy lifestyle choices.

Through these experiences, youth developed communication, social, and problem-solving skillsβ€”all while having fun. Most importantly, participants demonstrated courage, resilience, and a willingness to try new things, from starting conversations with peers to building friendships and strengthening their sense of community.

β€œThis summer showed us that learning and growth often happen outside of a classroom,” said Tina Tschaar, Community Based Services Program Director. β€œBy combining therapeutic goals with fun, hands-on experiences, our groups support social development while creating memories that last a lifetime.”

Due to the success of these youth groups, the programming will continue in the fall!

Children must enroll in The Neighborhood Center’s CFTSS program in order to participate.Β  Parents/guardians may contact The Neighborhood Center directly, or a school/other provider may complete a referral on the family’s behalf.
