SUNY Polytechnic Institute will welcome award-winning journalist and NBC News Chief Capitol Hill Correspondent Ryan Nobles back to the Mohawk Valley for From Utica to the Nation: A Conversation with Ryan Nobles on Saturday, October 3 at 6:30 p.m. at SUNY Poly’s Wildcat Field House.

Presented in partnership with WKTV NewsChannel 2 and sponsored by the SUNY Poly Center for Business and Applied Ethics, the free community event will be moderated by WKTV Evening Anchor Jason Powles. The conversation will explore Nobles’ career covering Congress and national politics, along with timely discussions surrounding media, public service and ethical leadership.

The event marks a full-circle return for Nobles, who began his journalism career at WKTV in Utica before moving on to television stations in Albany and Richmond, Virginia. He later spent eight years with CNN covering Capitol Hill, presidential campaigns and major national stories before joining NBC News in 2022. Today, Nobles appears across NBC News platforms including TODAY, NBC Nightly News, NBC News NOW and NBCNews.com.

Nobles’ work has earned two local Emmy Awards and an Edward R. Murrow Award, as well as a national Emmy nomination.

The program begins at 6:30 p.m., with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. Admission is free, but seating is limited and advance registration is required.
