On May 7th, Liberty Affordable Housing Inc. was awarded the 2025 New York State Historic Preservation Award, by the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation held at the Statewide Preservation Conference in Poughkeepsie, NY.

This prestigious award honors the exceptional rehabilitation and preservation of one of Utica’s most iconic architectural treasures—restored not only for its historic beauty but for the people and community it now proudly serves.

“This incredible transformation into updated residential units, while preserving and restoring its character, is an outstanding example of historic rehabilitation,” noted Randy Simons, Commissioner Pro Tempore, in the official award announcement. “It is our honor and pleasure to present the Olbiston Apartments with a 2025 New York Historic Preservation Award.”
