Notre Dame Jr/Sr High School NJROTC Graduation Ceremony
The Notre Dame Jr/Sr High School NJROTC will be graduating 15 senior cadets on Thursday, May 14th, at 4:00 pm in the Notre Dame Michael Walsh Gymnasium.

Five cadets will be continuing ROTC in college, and four cadets have received full four-year scholarships:
Joshua Caruso will be attending Syracuse University in the Air Force ROTC program
Shea Williams will be attending Virginia Military Institute on a Marine ROTC scholarship
Erin Trinkaus will be attending College of the Holy Cross on a Navy ROTC scholarship
Thomas Carville will be attending Duquesne University with a Navy ROTC scholarship
Scott Yourdon will be attending Duquesne University with a Navy ROTC scholarship
The NJROTC program instructors are Captain Robert Schug and Chief Brian Jaynes.
Notre Dame‘s NJROTC program has been very successful over the years, earning Distinguished Unit awards for nine years in a row, while competing on the national level in drill, orienteering, and academics.
Notre Dame Schools’ NJROTC competed in the 2026 NJROTC Nationals Academic, Athletic, and Drill Championship at the Naval Air Station Pensacola, FL, on Friday, March 27th, and Saturday, March 28th.
The Notre Dame NJROTC unit was one of only 23 schools in the country, out of over 630 NJROTC programs, that have earned the right to compete in this exciting two-day academic, athletic, and drill competition. The Notre Dame NJROTC unit finished ninth in the nation, receiving numerous awards and accolades for their efforts and dedication.
NJROTC (Navy Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps) is sponsored by the U.S. Navy
and is a secondary school program for Notre Dame students in 8th-12th grades. The Notre
Dame NJROTC program instills respect and self-discipline and builds leadership traits along with the Navy’s core values: Honor, Courage, and Commitment.
NJROTC stresses the importance of community service. You can always find a Notre Dame cadet participating in events in our community, including Flags for Heroes, Wreaths Across America, Tunnel to Towers, and local parades.
