Ninth Annual Tom Bergen Memorial Autism Acceptance Bowling Tournament

The ninth annual Tom Bergen Memorial Autism Acceptance Bowling Tournament will take place on Saturday, February 21 and Sunday, February 22, 2026 at RD’s Gorge View Lanes in Little Falls.

This tournament was created by Tammy Helmer-Bergen, Guardianship Coordinator at Arc Herkimer, to honor her son, Tom, who had autism and passed away suddenly in 2016.

“Tom was committed to advocating for people with autism and other developmental disabilities and spent many hours volunteering with Arc Herkimer,” says Helmer-Bergen. “Bowling was also passion of his and something he truly loved.”

The event is no-tap doubles with six bowling squads: Saturday and Sunday at 10:00 am, 12:30 pm, and 3:00 pm. Tournament registration is $20 per bowler. Those interested can register by visiting the bowling alley or calling (315) 823-3630.

Proceeds from the event will benefit Arc Herkimer, which provides supports & services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. A portion of the proceeds will also fund the Tom Bergen Memorial Scholarship at Little Falls High School.

In addition to bowling, the fundraiser will include autism acceptance items, t-shirts, a bake sale, auction, and prizes. Sunday there will also be a paint party, hosted by Easels on the Gogh, between noon and 4:00 pm for $10 per person.
