MVHS Names Director of Education at Rehabilitation and Nursing Center and Director of Service Response Center and Patient Transport

 

Diane Potter, MS, RN, has joined the Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS) as the director of Education at MVHS Rehabilitation and Nursing Center (RNC). In this role, Potter will plan and coordinate ongoing education functions of the facility as well as programs for new employees.

Most recently, Potter was nurse manager of the Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit, where she was responsible for quality, scheduling, customer satisfaction and patient education. Potter also developed a process that improved effectiveness of patient discharge instructions, helping to avoid unnecessary hospital readmissions. Prior to that, she held the position of nurse manager at APEX Surgery Center.

Potter earned her master’s degree in Nursing Education and bachelor’s degree in Nursing from SUNY Polytechnic Institute in Utica, New York.

 

 

 

 

 

Chisom Ugwuoke, MBA, has joined MVHS as the director of the Service Response Center (SRC) and Patient Transport.

Most recently, Ugwuoke held the positions of assistant director and patient flow manager at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.

Ugwuoke earned his master’s degree from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona, and bachelor’s degree in Finance and Business Management from Slippery Rock University in Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania.

 

 

 

 

 

 

MVHS Names Nurse Manager at Rehabilitation and Nursing Center

 

Jason Denicola, RN, CRRN, has joined Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS) as Clark North nurse manager at MVHS Rehabilitation and Nursing Center (RNC). In this role, Denicola will provide supervision and oversight of the 40-bed subacute rehabilitation unit.

Most recently, Denicola was a Weekend Day supervisor at MVHS RNC. He also previously held the positions of Clinical nurse manager at Charles T. Sitrin Healthcare Center in New Hartford, New York and associate clinical rehab director at Masonic Care Community of New York in Utica, New York.

Denicola earned his associate’s degree in Applied Science with a concentration in Nursing from Mohawk Valley Community College in Utica, New York.

Denicola is located at the Center for Rehabilitation and Continuing Care Services (CRCCS),

on the St. Luke’s Campus.
