Mohawk Valley Health System Names Medical Director for Intensive Care Unit at the St. Luke’s Campus

Ghassan Koussa, MD, has been named medical director for the Intensive Care Unit at the St. Luke’s Campus of the Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS). Dr. Koussa works with the MVHS Pulmonary and Critical Care Group and has privileges at Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare and St. Elizabeth Medical Center.

 

Dr. Koussa also serves as medical director of Pulmonary Rehabilitation at the Faxton Campus and medical director of the Respiratory Care Program through Mohawk Valley Community College. Prior to joining the MVHS Pulmonary and Critical Care Group, Dr. Koussa was affiliated with Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester, New Hampshire, as a staff physician in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine and medical director of the Lung Cancer Screening Program.

 

Dr. Koussa earned his medical degree from St. George’s University – School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies. He completed an Internal Medicine residency, Internal Medicine chief residency and a fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Albany Medical College in Albany, New York. Dr. Koussa earned his bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from the American University of Beirut in Beirut, Lebanon. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine and Critical Care Medicine.

 

Dr. Koussa is accepting new patients at the MVHS Pulmonary and Critical Care Group, located at 35 Riverside Drive, Utica, New York.

 

Mohawk Valley Health System Names New Director of Clinical Nutrition

Stephanie Mobbs, RD, has been named director of Clinical Nutrition at MVHS. In this role, Mobbs is responsible for directing the daily operations of nutrition programs for patients and residents

in all areas of the organization including acute care, acute rehabilitation, subacute rehabilitation, long term care, dialysis and outpatient specialty areas.

 

Mobbs has served as the MVHS Rehabilitation and Nursing Center Assistant Director of Clinical Nutrition since October 2008. Prior to that role, she served as the Assistant Director of Clinical Nutrition at the St. Luke’s Campus.

 

Mobbs earned her Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Sciences – Dietetics from the University of Arizona in Tuscon, Arizona. Mobbs studied at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, New

York, and completed a Dietetics Internship at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. Mobbs is Servsafe certified.
