Mosaic Health announced today that its six owned and operated health centers across New York State have begun to see more medical and dental patients as the state reopens amid the COVID-19 pandemic. If patients are not comfortable going to the office to be seen, telephone and televideo visits are available.

 

The American Dental AssociationΒ supports dental offices reopeningΒ with added precautions in certain areas, including New York, however, Mosaic Health will not be providing certain services, such as routine fillings and dental cleanings at this time. Even though dentists are routinely exposed to aerosols and saliva that contain viruses, Mosaic Health is working on how to better protect everyone involved during these procedures.

 

The organization strives to safeguard staff, patients, and the communities we serve and will continue to implement strict infection control initiatives. Please do not walk into the office at this time without an appointmentβ€”especially if you feel sick. Appointment scheduling options will be limited to allow for social distancing and more disinfecting between patients. When you schedule your next appointment, you can expect:

  • Communication from our office before your appointment to ask screening questions
    • You will be asked the same questions again when you arrive at the office
  • To have your temperature taken when you arrive
  • Visitors limited to one person per patient at your appointment
  • Face coverings to be mandatory to enter the office
  • To use hand sanitizer that we will have available
  • To no longer see magazines or children’s toys in the waiting rooms

 

Due to schools being closed, the Mosaic Health Community Dentistry teams will not be seeing students who enrolled in the program until further notice. If your child has a dental need, please call your nearest Mosaic Health center.
