Local Employers Invited to Help Shape Workforce Initiative for Young Adults in Oneida County
CNYHHN and Chamber Partners to Host Networking Events to Connect Businesses with Fully Subsidized Youth Work Experience Program

he Central New York Health Home Network (CNYHHN) is inviting local businesses to participate in two upcoming networking events designed to strengthen connections between the business community and motivated young adults while helping shape the future of workforce development in the region.
In partnership with the Greater Utica Chamber of Commerce and the Rome Area Chamber of Commerce, these casual briefing and networking sessions will introduce business leaders to the expanding CNYHHN Growth Opportunities (GO) Program, which connects businesses with young adults ages 15-24 for fully subsidized, short-term work experiences.
The GO program, funded 100% by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Employment and Training Administration, seeks to bridge the gap between at-risk youth and the workforce by equipping them with the skills, experience, and support needed to secure stable and decent work opportunities. Through the program, participating business partners receive motivated young workers while the program provides workplace readiness training and covers 100% of participant wages for up to 200 hours.
During each event, attendees will:
  • Learn about the GO Program and upcoming business partnership opportunities
  • Meet fellow business and community leaders
  • Share feedback on workforce needs in the local economy
  • Explore how hosting a participant can benefit your business with no wage cost
