The annual Utica Kiwanis Club holiday party for children dates back pre–World War II. This year the Club members are grateful for the donations from UnitedHealthcare Community & State, Utica University Athletic Department, and Hannaford. The donations helped Kiwanis put smiles on the faces of more than 60 children at the Thea Bowman House. Each child was given a gift from Santa, and a backpack with school supplies and crafts. The kids had snacks, decorated cookies, and took fun photos to bring home to share with their families.

“The party is just one approach we take to give kids a special and memorable experience during the holiday season. This event helps support families who may be struggling to buy gifts for their children this time of year,” said Rock Schneider, President of Kiwanis Club of Utica. “It is great to see the community come together to help make a difference in the children’s lives.”
