GPO Communities Come Together for Local Students

There is something special about seeing a community come together for its students, and that spirit was on full display throughout GPO Federal Credit Union’s 2026 Back-to-School Community Donation Drive.

Throughout July and August, GPO members, team members and neighbors donated notebooks, folders, pencils, crayons and other classroom essentials, while GPO team members helped encourage participation throughout the communities the credit union serves.

By the end of the drive, GPO delivered a 90-quart storage bin filled with school supplies to each of six local school districts: Holland Patent, Dolgeville, Central Valley, Utica, New Hartford and Rome. In Madison County, backpacks collected across GPO were combined with the Oneida Branch’s backpack drive, resulting in 32 new backpacks donated to Community Action Partnership (CAP) of Madison County.

GPO is grateful for its partnerships with United Way of the Mohawk Valley, Connected Community Schools and Community Action Partnership (CAP) of Madison County, as well as the school districts, educators and staff who helped connect these donations with local students.

The credit union also extends its thanks to everyone who donated or helped spread the word. Their generosity turned individual contributions into meaningful support for students throughout the communities GPO serves.
