Each year, the third Thursday in October marks International Credit Union (ICU) Day, a global celebration of the Credit Union Movement and its mission of “People Helping People.” At First Source Federal Credit Union, this day is more than a tradition—it’s a call to action. This year, First Source brought that mission to life in a meaningful way by supporting a vital local organization. After learning that the Johnson Park Center had lost critical funding for its food pantry, First Source stepped in to help.

On ICU Day, Community Team members Deb Grogan and Mariann Munson visited Kimberly Beckman and Reverend Ursula Meier at the Johnson Park Center with a surprise: a heartfelt video message from CEO John Calabrese and a $1,000 donation to support the pantry’s continued service to the community.

The visit was filled with joy, gratitude, and a renewed sense of connection—an authentic reflection of what ICU Day represents. At First Source, it’s about taking real steps to uplift the communities we serve. “We’re honored to work with organizations like the Johnson Park Center,” said John Calabrese, President/CEO of First Source. “Their dedication to helping those in need inspires us, and we’re proud to support their mission.”
