New York Sash is proud to announce the launch of the 5th Annual Shower for a Soldier Bath Makeover Giveaway, a continuing community initiative that provides a free shower or tub remodel to a deserving local veteran. The local remodeling company is now accepting nominations for its 2025 veteran recipient. The program is designed to give back to those who have selflessly served our country—by making daily life more comfortable and accessible at home, starting with a safer, easier bathing experience.

Each year, one nominee is selected to receive a brand-new shower or tub installation completely free of charge. Since the program began, four local veterans have received life-changing bathroom upgrades thanks to the generosity of New York Sash and their manufacturer, Bath Concepts.

Last year’s recipient, Edward Andrews, served bravely and endured lasting physical and mental injuries after multiple IED and gunfire incidents. He now lives with PTSD, a traumatic brain injury, and chronic pain from injuries to his knees, back, and neck. New York Sash removed his old tub and converted it into an extra-large walk-in shower equipped with a seat, grab bars, and safety features. His story is just one example of the many veterans in our community who could benefit from improved home accessibility.
