Excellus BlueCross BlueShield Employees Donate Hundreds of Hygiene Items to Mohawk Valley Veterans

UTICA, N.Y. — Excellus BlueCross BlueShield employees across New York state donated hundreds of hygiene items to veterans in the Mohawk Valley through the Utica Center for Development.

The donations, which included personal hygiene products, toiletries and household cleaning supplies, were collected over two months. Locally, the effort was led by Excellus BCBS’s We Are One employee resource group (ERG), while the health plan’s Veterans Network ERG coordinated contributions statewide.

“These essential items help veterans and their families meet everyday needs,” said Tony Vitagliano, Excellus BlueCross BlueShield Utica regional president. “I’m proud of how our employees came together to serve those who served. Unfortunately, the need remains great — especially during the holiday season.”

The Utica Center for Development provides housing for homeless veterans and operates a pantry serving veterans throughout the Mohawk Valley. The pantry is located at 726 Washington St. in Utica.
