The Irish Cultural Center is excited to announce the “Best Guinness Pour in Central New York” contest hosted by the Five Points Public House and Event Center.

The Five Points Public House, the pub and restaurant at the Irish Cultural Center, will host “The Best Guinness Pour in Central New York” on Saturday September 24th. Contestants will come to Five Points from several different pubs and bars from around the CNY area to see who can pour the best pint of Guinness. They will compete in three different categories including best Half & Half, best Shamrock design, and best overall standard pour (yes, there is a science to pouring a Guinness pint).

Five celebrity judges will be scrutinizing the pours and the winner of the night will receive a $500 cash prize with the runner up walking away with $100. The champion’s pub will also receive a check for $250 to donate to their favorite charity as well as a champion’s banner that they can display in their pub for bragging rights.

Doors open at 4:00 p.m. with musical entertainment provided by Beth & Fritz starting around 5:30 pm. Admission is $15 for those who want a Guinness glass and a drink chip. There will be raffles with some great prizes and magician Ryan Bliss will be showing off his skills to the crowd. Judging will commence at or before 7:00 p.m.
