As community partners of NYPA’s Supplier Diversity team, we would like to request your assistance in distributing the following information to your members, especially those in the construction industry. NYPA is currently inviting potential respondents to participate in the Canals Statewide Guard Gate and Waste Weir Rehabilitation Design-Build solicitation. Suppliers and contractors, particularly those certified as MWBEs, SDVOBs, and SBEs, are encouraged to participate in this procurement. Please find the scope of work below. Responses are due by November 17, 2025.

The New York State Canal Corporation (“Canals” or “NYSCC”), a subsidiary of the New York Power Authority (hereafter, “NYPA” and/or “the Authority”) invites qualified bidders to submit a proposal to engineer and furnish all supervision, labor, materials and equipment (except for services, materials and/or equipment to be furnished by others as specifically referred to in the contract documents) and perform all operations required for Q25-7692LK Canals Statewide Guard Gate and Waste Weir Rehabilitation Design-Build project throughout the barge canal system.

The Design-Builder shall be responsible for completing the site-specific designs with the performance specifications and standardized design guidelines developed by the Canals’ Program Manager. The Design-Builder will be responsible for fabricating, delivering, installing, testing and commissioning of the guard gates and waste weirs.
