The Central Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired (CABVI) celebrates the spirit of the car and motorcycle community with the Vehicles for Vision Car Show noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, August 30, at 507 Kent Street.

This year’s show will feature additional judged classes, giving participants more opportunities to compete and showcase their vehicles and motorcycles. Judging begins at 12:15 p.m., with prizes awarded in each class and $100 going to the 1st place winners.

Adding to the excitement, attendees will have the opportunity to meet Mike Zarnock, a Utica native, automotive enthusiast, author, and two-time Guinness World Record holder for the world’s largest collection of Hot Wheels model cars. Known as one of the foremost experts on Hot Wheels collectibles, Zarnock has amassed more than 30,000 vehicles and memorabilia and has been featured in Ripley’s Believe It or Not! and other national media. He will also bring his full-size vehicle modeled after actual Hot Wheels cars, giving attendees a chance to see this unique attraction up close.

Visitors can enjoy live music from the Dusty Puppies, food, raffles, and family-friendly activities. The event also highlights CABVI’s Vehicles for Vision vehicle donation program, which has received more than 17,000 vehicle donations since its inception, generating critical support for programs and services that empower people who are blind or visually impaired.

Vehicle owners are encouraged to preregister early to reserve their spot and take advantage of discounted registration. Registration is $10 in advance and $15 the day of the show. Preregistration is now open at CABVI.org/Events.
