CABVI Spotlights Healthy Vision in May
In recognition of Healthy Vision Month, the Central Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired (CABVI) is raising awareness about the importance of eye health, early detection of vision conditions, and the resources available to people living with vision loss.
Healthy Vision Month serves as a reminder that many vision problems can be prevented or managed through regular eye exams, proper eye protection, and healthy lifestyle choices. According to vision health experts, early detection is critical in reducing the risk of permanent vision loss and maintaining overall quality of life.
βVision problems donβt always come with obvious warning signs,β said Dr. Kimberly Wadas. βThatβs why preventive eye care is essential to protecting healthy vision.β
Vision loss does not have to limit independence or opportunity. With proper care, adaptive strategies, and community support, individuals can continue to live active, productive, and fulfilling lives.
