The Mohawk Valley Economic Development District, Inc. (MVEDD) is a proud partner organization in the Adirondack North Country Center for Businesses in Transition Partnership. The partnership has recently joined forces with other organizations and initiatives across the Northern Border region in an effort to understand the potential economic impact of Small Business Owners’ Retirement across the larger region.

Do you have a plan for what to do with your business when you’re ready to exit? Across the Northeast, there are over 200,000 small businesses with employees where the owner is nearing retirement age, and most of them don’t understand the exit planning process and options and don’t know who to turn to for help. Lack of awareness and planning too often leads to unnecessary liquidation and closure.

We’re surveying business owners in the North Country and your response will help business service providers, civic leaders and policy makers better understand the scope and scale of the challenge and its potential impact on our economy.

This will take less than 10 minutes to complete. All individual survey responses will be confidential. Only the aggregated, anonymous data will be available publicly.
