Broadway Utica is proud to announce the 2024–2025 recipients of the Linda Leogrande Scholarship, awarded annually to a graduating senior in the Youth Ambassador Program who demonstrates outstanding leadership, dedication to the arts, and commitment to the Broadway Utica community.

This year, two exceptional students have been selected as recipients: Grace Ruganis and Callum Torruella. Their contributions over the past two seasons have left a lasting impact, and their passion for the arts continues to inspire those around them. The Linda Leogrande Scholarship was established in loving memory of Linda Leogrande, a long- standing board member of the Broadway Theatre League who served the organization for more than 30 years. Linda’s warmth, generosity, and radiant spirit continue to guide Broadway Utica, and her legacy lives on through this meaningful award.

“Linda was the heart of our organization for so many years. Her memory continues to guide us in the most beautiful ways. Through this scholarship, we’re able to celebrate everything she stood for — generosity, kindness, and a passion for the arts — and pass it on to the young people following in her footsteps,” said Kristen Matteson, Program
Director at Broadway Utica.

A special thank-you goes to Lou Leogrande, whose generous and continued support makes this scholarship possible. Broadway Utica also extends its sincere appreciation to those who donate through the Community Foundation partnership, helping further the mission of investing in future creative leaders.

The Linda Leogrande Scholarship honors Youth Ambassadors who have been active in the program for two consecutive seasons and are continuing their education and/or pursuing their passion in the arts.
