The Broadway Theatre League of Utica is thrilled to announce, through its UticaWorx program and in partnership with Oneida County, special free screenings of the beloved holiday film Elf. These events will bring laughter, inspiration, and a touch of holiday magic to nearly 3,000 area students in grades 3rd–8th, all at no cost to the students or their schools.

  • The Stanley Theatre, Utica – 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 11, 2025

  • Rome Capitol Theatre – 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 18, 2025

These screenings, made possible through the generosity of Oneida County, highlight the incredible power of the arts, not just to entertain, but to inspire, educate, and strengthen community ties. For many of these students, it will be their first time experiencing a movie inside one of our region’s historic theatres, sparking creativity and a lifelong appreciation for the arts.

“Oneida County is proud to support the Broadway Theatre League of Utica in bringing this holiday classic to as many students as possible,” said Oneida County Executive Anthony J. Picente Jr. “Events like these not only foster a love for the arts among our children but also strengthen the bonds within our community.”

“We’re so excited to share Elf with local students and grateful to Oneida County for making it possible,” said Danielle Padula, Executive Director of Broadway Utica. “The arts play a vital role in shaping young minds and reminding us that everyone — no matter their background — deserves moments of joy, discovery, and wonder.” Broadway Utica is honored to continue partnerships like this that make arts experiences accessible to all.

Transportation is not provided, and space is limited.
Each student attending will receive complimentary admission to a special screening that includes popcorn, a candy cane, an ELF name tag, and a commemorative Oneida County snow globe to take home.
