Awaken Your Senses at CABVI’s Dark Dining

Savor a delicious multi-course meal, engage in conversation and have an opportunity to navigate an evening without your sense of sight. The Central Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired (CABVI) invites guests to experience its signature event, Dark Dining, Saturday, October 24 at Delta Hotels by Marriott.  Guests are invited to arrive at 5:30 pm for a cocktail hour featuring drinks, networking, and an opportunity to connect with fellow supporters before dinner is served with the option of wearing a blindfold.
Far more than a night out, Dark Dining challenges guests to engage their remaining senses in new ways. Without visual cues, flavors become more vibrant, sounds more distinct, and conversations more meaningful. The experience encourages participants to step outside their comfort zones while gaining a deeper appreciation for how individuals who are blind or visually impaired navigate the world every day.
Dark Dining has become one of CABVI’s most distinctive and anticipated events, attracting guests looking for a meaningful experience while supporting our important mission. Proceeds help fund CABVI’s programs and services that empower people who are blind or visually impaired to achieve greater independence through employment, rehabilitation, assistive technology, education, and support services.
“Dark Dining allows participants to experience dining without sight while gaining a deeper appreciation for the independence and abilities of people who are blind or visually impaired,” said Ed Welsh, President and CEO of CABVI. “We are grateful to everyone who supports this event and CABVI’s mission.”
Experience an unforgettable evening, with new perspectives, and opportunities to challenge your senses.  For more information or to purchase tickets, visit cabvi.org/events.
