On Tuesday October 29th, AmeriCU Credit Union hosted the New York Credit Union Association (NYCUA) Utica-Rome Chapter Dinner at AmeriCU’s Griffiss Financial Center. Nearly 70 employees and volunteers from various credit unions in the Utica-Rome area gathered to discuss the innovative impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the financial industry.

During the chapter dinner, credit union leaders and board members explored AI’s role in transforming financial services, from personalized member interactions to streamlined processes. Special guest speakers included Jason Lewin, Chief Information Officer, and Daniel Belfield, VP, General Counsel, both of AmeriCU Credit Union. As financial services evolve, credit unions are increasingly leveraging AI to enhance member experiences and stay ahead in a dynamic market.

Working together not only helps us overcome challenges, but also drives meaningful growth, enriching both credit unions and the communities we serve. “Collaboration and adaptability are essential in today’s financial landscape,” says Ron Belle, AmeriCU President and CEO. “By credit unions working together to learn and embrace AI innovations, we are uncovering new opportunities and resources that bring lasting benefits to our members and communities.”

With 11 chapters statewide NYCUA is committed to strengthening the interests of credit unions throughout New York State. Each of the chapters is led by a volunteer council, which provides networking opportunities, advances community-outreach efforts and raises consumer awareness about the credit union difference. As the financial sector progresses, credit unions remain dedicated to providing members with the resources they need to succeed.
