As the Mohawk Valley Region continues to open, The Community at Sunset Wood is following suit. However, being that we serve a wide range of older adults, our community is remaining vigilant in upholding high standards of cleanliness to protect those who visit and live with us. If you have ever walked into our community, the first comment we usually receive is that, “It is so clean and beautiful in here!” – and that is exactly what we strive to continue, a successful maintenance & housekeeping plan to ensure we exceed CDC standards.
Our Phase 2 reopening will provide tenants with opportunities to remain social while staying safe. We have redesigned our Exercise Classes to abide by social distancing standards, all while keeping it fun. Small group wellness programs (capped at 10) will begin, to keep those who live with us engaged – be on the lookout for the return of our Sunset Wood Walking Club, our brand new Gardening Club, a total re-branding of our Wellness Program, and much more.
In regards to tours, we will be able to bring in those interested by showing our common areas and unoccupied units. Since our community does not typically have unoccupied units, we will be showing units that are being renovated for people on the waiting list. That means our time-slots for tours will be very limited and structured. Therefore, if you are interested in touring our community, please call us ahead of time so we can fit you into the schedule.
Although a lot has changed in our world, the mission hasn’t. We are committed to enabling seniors to live independently in a secure community that enhances the quality of life. COVID-19 has been a test, and our staff came more than prepared with both disaster and recovery plans. Sunset Wood remains a safe community, and viable option, for those looking for a high-quality living experience at a feasible price.
