The Oneida County History Center is extending its closure through at least April 15 following state and national recommendations to keep our community safe and healthy during the COVID-19 pandemic. The staff are working remotely and are available by email. Thank you to everyone for your patience.
What does closure mean?
- The History Center is closed to the general public and volunteers. Staff are working remotely with limited access to the building.
- The History Center presentations previously scheduled for Saturdays, April 5, April 11, and April 25 are canceled. They will be rescheduled as soon as possible. Presentations scheduled in May and June will remain on the calendar until further notice.
- Research requests are still being accepted and reviewed. On-site research will be handled when volunteer operations resume.
History Center Recommendations:
- Follow the History Center on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. We will be regularly sharing fun facts and photos, plus information relevant to the pandemic.
- Document this historic moment by keeping a personal journal or sharing your story with the History Center on https://www.oneidacountyhistory.org/covid-19-stories.html
- Renew your membership or make a gift toward our annual telethon. Our mission of preserving history and providing local history education continues with your generosity.
- Take advantage of our e-bookstore: https://oneidacountyhistory.square.site/ with a wide variety of books, puzzles, and more.
We encourage everyone to follow the CDC suggestions to stay home, avoid unnecessary gatherings, and wash your hands frequently. We wish continued health for all.
