Wellness Wednesdays Return to the Utica University Nexus Center
The Utica University Nexus Center, in partnership with the Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS) and the Utica Comets, will welcome the community back for Wellness Wednesdays presented by MVHS, a monthly program designed to promote health, fitness and well-being throughout the Mohawk Valley.
The 2026-27 Wellness Wednesdays program will kick off Wednesday, October 7, at 11 a.m. at the Utica University Nexus Center, 300 Oriskany Street West, Utica. Community members are invited to walk around the Nexus Center’s indoor track, visit with local community partners and participate in guided Wellness Walks led by MVHS providers and staff.
Beginning October 7, and continuing on the first Wednesday of each month, the Nexus Center’s indoor track will be open to the public from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wellness Wednesdays offers local residents a free, temperature-controlled space to walk, move and connect with community health resources. Each month will feature a different wellness theme or health initiative, along with information, health screenings and resources to help community members live healthier lives.
October’s program will highlight Breast Cancer Awareness Month and will feature Wellness Walks with Julie Rajotte-Caron, MD, breast surgeon with the MVHS Breast Care Center, and Tiffany Lee, MD, bariatric surgeon with the MVHS Weight Loss Center.
Stop by to visit with area community resource partners and learn more about local programs, services and resources designed to support health and well-being in the Mohawk Valley. Participants will also have the opportunity to win prizes during each Wellness Walk. Those who attend each Wellness Wednesday walk will be entered for a chance to win a Utica Comets 2027-28 season ticket. Additional special events throughout the year may include blood drives, yoga sessions and more.
