First Source Federal Credit Union is pleased to announce $60,000 in funding to be distributed over the next 3 years for The Utica Zoo’s educational efforts. From off premise educational events with the zoo mobile, to on premise zoo internships for budding biologists and zoo keepers, zoo camps, conservation efforts and more!
“We are so grateful for First Source Federal Credit Union’s ongoing support,” said Andria Heath, Executive Director of The Utica Zoo. “They’ve been with us for a long time in many capacities and each year continue to see our vision and renew their dedication to the zoo.”
First Source Federal Credit Union began working with the zoo several years ago through sponsored events and exhibits. Over the years their focus shifted to helping fund the zoo’s annual greatest needs. Five years ago this was the Zoo’s Master Plan initiative and Dream Big kick off party for seed funding to begin work on the plan.
“Our zoo is an important community asset,” said Tom Neumann, President and CEO of First Source Federal Credit Union. “There are many positive changes happening at The Utica Zoo. They’ve revamped habitats and programs and continue to do so with education and conservation at the core of their strategies. We are proud to help them in their efforts. ”
The Zoo also recently received their AZA Accreditation from the Association of Zoos & Aquariums.
