Community Foundation and UpMobility Foundation to Host Fourth-Annual Online Giving Day to Benefit Local Nonprofits
Mohawk Valley Gives Returns Friday, September 19
The Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties and UpMobility Foundation will host the fourth-annual online day of community giving, “Mohawk Valley Gives,” on Friday, September 19, to benefit local nonprofits serving Herkimer, Oneida and Otsego counties.
More than 380 nonprofits are participating, using social media and other means of engagement to inspire and energize their donors. Support areas include animal rights, disability services, racial equity, education, arts and culture, emergency response, poverty and hunger, entrepreneurship, health and wellness, and many others. The full list of participating organizations is available at givemv.org.
Since the event’s inception in 2022, more than $8.4 million dollars has been raised by donors from all over the world. Last year specifically, more than 8,200 donors came together and raised over $5.2 million, benefiting 325 area nonprofit organizations.
“Every year, our community rallies together for this giving day and exceeds all of our expectations,” said Community Foundation President/CEO Alicia Dicks. “This event not only showcases the incredible nonprofits we have right here in our community but sheds light on the generosity that exists in our region. We are thrilled to see what this year will bring.”
Donations may be accepted at www.givemv.org from Monday, September 15 through the remainder of the week, but donations made on the September 19 giving day will help nonprofits maximize their fundraising goals throughout the day with donation matches, challenges and other Mohawk Valley Gives incentives, such as monetary prizes. The donation window closes on Friday, September 19 at 9:00 p.m.
