Traditional Irish ensemble Danú will perform as part of Munson’s Concert in the Court series at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 6, at Munson in Downtown Utica.

Emerging from the storied landscape of County Waterford, Danú stands as one of today’s foremost traditional Irish ensembles. Their electrifying, packed concerts across Ireland are legendary, showcasing high-energy performances that seamlessly blend ancient Irish melodies with vibrant new compositions. Their repertoire includes hornpipes, reels, and cherished traditional favorites like “The Foggy Dew,” “Ten Thousand Miles,” and “Mo Ghile Mear.”

“The music of Danú is more than a performance,” according to Bob Mortis, director of Performing Arts. “It’s a journey—one that carries you through the heart of Ireland’s rich traditions and lively spirit.”

For over two decades, Danú’s virtuoso players on flute, tin whistle, fiddle, button accordion, bouzouki, and vocals have captivated audiences worldwide. Winners of numerous awards from the BBC and Irish Music Magazine, they continue to set the standard for traditional Irish music, enchanting listeners with their unparalleled artistry and passion.
