The Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties announced that more than $1.85 million in grants were awarded during the second quarter of 2024 to support organizations and initiatives benefiting every corner of the community and beyond.
In April, the Community Foundation held its Equity Grant Round aimed at local nonprofits addressing inequality and inequity that impact marginalized populations in areas such as education, economic stability, housing, healthcare, and food insecurity. Twenty-one organizations received funding totaling $219,700.
The Library Grant Round held in May awarded $35,000 to 21 libraries for program-related expenses, physical structure updates, or technology upgrades that will enhance the services they provide to patrons.
