On December 13, 2022, the SUNY Board of Trustees voted to formally begin the process of transferring one of SUNY Polytechnic Institute’s colleges, located in Albany, known as the College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering (CNSE) to the University at Albany. The Trustees have directed leadership at UAlbany to work with their counterparts at SUNY Polytechnic Institute to deliver a comprehensive transition plan no later than December 2023.

As a valued members of community, we want to reassure you that SUNY Polytechnic Institute is not going anywhere. We are steadfast in the growth of our 24 undergraduate and 15 graduate programs that are, and have always been, integral to our Utica campus. We will continue to serve the educational needs of our local communities (and beyond) by creating an intellectually vibrant, creative, and stimulating environment where our students and faculty innovate, educate, and empower themselves and others through cutting-edge research and community outreach.
