A team skipped by Roger Rowlett defeated a rink led by Mike Kessler by a score of 6 – 2 in the Utica Curling Club’s Mixed Championship held January 24th, 26th & 27th. The three day event included 14 teams and acts as a qualifying tournament for the UCC’s International invitational bonspiel, the Cobb, which is scheduled February 20th – 23rd. The bonspiel which involves 32 teams from all over the Northeast and Canada features six medal events with the President’s Cup awarded to the overall winner of the tournament. UCC’s Mixed Championship is a competition of teams composed of two men and two women which has been held at the club every year since 1956.

UCC invites the public to view any of the curling matches during the Cobb. The semifinals and finals are held at 8:00 pm Saturday, February 22nd and the finals are held at 11:30 am on Sunday, February 23rd and will be streamed live from the curling club.
