YWCA Mohawk Valley (YWCA MV) wishes to extend sincere thanks to everyone who participated in the agency’s Adopt-A-Family holiday program.
“It’s wonderful to see the generosity of the community for this program every year,” says YWCA MV Development Director Sam Madderom. “Our thanks come not only from us at YWCA MV, but from all of our clients, as well.”
Adopt-A-Family allows YWCA MV to provide holiday gifts to each client in the agency’s shelters and housing programs. Participating donors are paired anonymously with clients and given wish lists for their assigned family. This year, The Women’s Fund of Herkimer and Oneida Counties, Inc. participated by providing gifts for 31 children in Herkimer County.
This year, the program was also generously supported by NYCM Insurance, NBT Bank, OPWDD/Integrated Program Services, Utica National, Whitesboro Fit Body Boot Camp, Woodland Farm Brewery, the Daniels family, the Helmer family, the Laug family, Adrienne and Bernie Adorino, Jessica Cunningham, Lizabeth Doherty, Jane Flanagan, Christine Raynard, Tori Watson, and YWCA MV board members and staff.
“Our goal is always to ensure our clients’ stay with us is as comfortable and uplifting as possible,” says YWCA MV CEO Dianne Stancato, “and being able to give them a safe place to celebrate the holidays together, nice gifts, and holiday meals really means a lot. Our community has come together again to make this holiday very special. And we thank you all !”
The agency also extends their gratitude to the great number of individuals and organizations from the community who donated toys, miscellaneous gifts, and personal care items for the holiday season. For example, Adopt-A-Family was supported with donations from Peraton, Lupini Construcion, Immanuel Baptist Church of Rome, and Kiwanis Club of Clinton.
