The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has selected the Workforce Development Board of Herkimer, Madison, and Oneida Counties (WDB HMO) for a Brownfields Job Training Grant.

The WDB HMO will train local job seekers and place them in environmental jobs. The training program will provide valuable instruction in Environmental Health and Land Reuse topics leading to sought-after skills and certifications.

Job seekers who complete the training will gain critical skills in the Brownfields industry and can earn up to four state and two federal certifications.

Certifications Include:
• OSHA 30,
• OSHA Lead,
• HAZWOPER,
• NYS Mold Abatement,
• NYS Asbestos Abatement,
• OSHA Confined Spaces,
• Global Hazard Communications,
• Blood Borne Pathogens & Infections,
• Site Safety Training Worker,
• And Many More.

The WDB HMO is targeting job seekers within the City of Utica, focusing on under represented and historically marginalized populations.
Eligibility:
• Resident of Herkimer, Madison, or Oneida County,
• Priority of Service for justice-involved individuals, veterans, low-income individuals,
refugees, historically marginalized and underrepresented individuals.
