SUNY Polytechnic Institute’s (SUNY Poly) MS in Accounting program has been ranked 33^rd in the nation among the 2023 Best Online Graduate Business Programs (excluding MBA) by U.S. News & World Report. U.S. News assessed schools in the Best Online Graduate Business Programs (excluding MBA) category based on a variety of objective factors, such as student engagement, faculty credentials, and services and technologies.

 

“This latest U.S. News & World Report ranking is a testament to the high quality of SUNY Poly’s AACSB-accredited online Master of Science in Accounting program, which is registered by the New York State Education Department as a licensure-qualifying program for students to fulfill the 150-semester hour educational requirement for the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensure,” said Dr. Arthur Lu, Dean of the College of Business. “This annual ranking reaffirms SUNY Poly’s robust position among the most recognized online graduate business programs (excluding MBA) in the nation.”

 

Designed for individuals looking to complete or further their education, this year’s edition evaluates more than 1,800 online bachelor’s and master’s degree programs. The Best Online Programs include rankings of bachelor’s programs as well as the following master’s-level disciplines: MBA, business (non-MBA), computer information technology (including computer science), criminal justice/criminology, education, engineering, and nursing.

 

SUNY Poly also ranked in the top 100 in the nation for Best Online MBA Programs, Best Online Bachelor’s Programs (Health Information Management), and Best Online Information Tech Programs (Network & Computer Security: Cybersecurity MS program).

 

“Most of the undergraduate programs in the Best Online Programs rankings are degree completion programs, meaning the vast majority of their students already have some college credit,” said Liana Loewus, managing editor of Education at U.S. News. “The methodologies are developed with those students in mind, setting these rankings apart from those that are focused on recent high school graduates pursuing higher education for the first time.”

Recently, U.S. News named SUNY Poly 9^th in its “Best Regional Universities-North” category in 2022-2023, advancing three spots from last year as part of the publication’s 2022-2023 rankings. In addition:

• For the fourth year in a row, SUNY Poly ranked 2^ndin the “Top Public Schools” Regional Universities-North category.
• In this same regional category, SUNY Poly remained in the top 20 for “Top Performers on Social Mobility,” moving up three positions from the previous year to 16^th; and
• SUNY Poly remained in the top 50 for “Best Value Schools.”

 

SUNY Poly also ranked third in “Best Colleges for Veterans,” up one position from the institution’s 2022 rankings in the Regional Universities-North category.
