Third Annual G-O’s NICU Ride for Mohawk Valley Health System
The Oneida Chapter of Shot Gun Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club (LEMC) presented the Wynn Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) with a donation of $4,000 on Monday, November 6, 2023. The Annual G-O’s NICU Ride was held on Saturday, August 19, 2023, with proceeds benefiting Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) Hospitals at Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS). The annual charitable donation increased by 15 percent from the previous year.
Shot Gun LEMC holds the Wynn Hospital NICU close to their hearts since chapter president Blue’s son, G-O, was prematurely born at St. Luke’s in 2019. After spending two weeks in the NICU, G-O was finally allowed to go home to his family. As a result of the care his family received during this emotional and stressful time, Blue and his wife, Shian, were moved to donate some helpful items to the NICU to help parents and their newborns. Blue spoke with other Shot Gun LEMC members about setting up an annual charitable motorcycle ride to raise funds for local NICUs and support other local families who go through a similar experience.
“We’re so grateful for the generosity of Shot Gun LEMC and G-O’s NICU Ride,” said Debra Wainwright, CMN Program Director of the MVHS Foundation. “Their gift will help to provide compassionate care for children who need it.”
The success of the local CMN Hospitals is made possible by the many special events and grassroots fundraisers held year-round by local businesses, organizations, families and individuals.
