Teams are forming now from area businesses, community groups, schools, churches and families for the American Cancer Society’s annual Relay For Life event. This year, the event is back in its usual time of year – happening on Saturday, June 10^th from Noon – 10 PM at Delta Lake State Park in Rome. This year’s theme is ‘Pirates of the Cure-ibean’.

 

The event features an opening survivor and caregiver lap (followed by a free reception for all cancer survivors and caregivers), live music, kids activities, cancer education, games, luminaria ceremony and much more. While one team member takes their turn walking around the track, the rest of the team camps out and enjoys all the fun!

 

To register a team, purchase a luminaria to be placed along the track in honor or in memory of someone who has fought a battle with cancer, or for more information on the event, go to www.relayforlife.org/cny. Cancer survivors are especially welcome to attend and there is no charge for anyone to enter the park if attending the Relay For Life event.
