Acclaimed pianist Jeffrey Siegel will kick off Munson’s Performing Arts season with a Keyboard Conversation at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, in the Museum of Art’s Sinnott Family – Bank of Utica Auditorium. Tickets are $24 for Munson Members, $30 for the general public, and $15 for students.

In this concert, “Dances for the Ears,” Siegel will guide the audience through the lively, rhythmic music of Bach, Chopin, and Spanish composers Enrique Granados and Miguel de Falla, using glorious melodies to explore why rhythm is a very important component of music. Seamlessly blending storytelling with musicality, Siegel explores the inspiration behind each piece, offering insightful commentary and playing excerpts to illustrate key elements, culminating with his masterful performance of each composition. Following the final selection, Mr. Siegel opens the floor to the audience, entertaining their questions and creating an interactive and unforgettable musical encounter.

Keyboard Conversations is sponsored at Munson by Dr. Cynthia Parlato, Dr. Douglas Hurd, and Dr. Lorna W. Grant.
