National Chemistry Week (NCW) is Sunday, October 20, 2024, through Saturday, October 26, 2024! NCW is about promoting chemistry’s value in everyday life. For the second consecutive year, scientists from the McCarthy Lab at MMRI visited local schools to lead students through a fun, interactive chemistry experiment.

MMRI scientists visited a kindergarten class at Watson Williams Elementary School and a sixth-grade class at the Utica Academy of Science Charter School. The scientists first demonstrated the experiment and then the students tried their hand with supplies of their own.

MMRI was thrilled to bring chemistry into the classroom and share the joy of science with each group of students.
