On Sunday, June 4, 2023, cancer survivors from the Mohawk Valley as well as their family and friends are invited to gather with employees, medical staff and volunteers from the Mohawk Valley Health System’s (MVHS) Cancer Services at the annual National Cancer Survivors Day Brunch. The brunch will take place at Roselawn Banquet Facility, 446 Main Street, New York Mills, with doors opening at 9:30 a.m. and brunch beginning at 10:00 a.m. Cancer survivors are free and are encouraged to bring guests. The cost for guests is $20 each.
Reservations are required by Friday, May 26 and can be made online at bit.ly/mvhscsd or by calling Jennifer Humphrey at 315-624-5321.
“Our employees look forward to the Survivors Day Celebration because it is a chance for us to be with our patients and see how well they are doing,” said Alicia DeTraglia, MD, Cancer Center physician. “Cancer touches everyone and these patients have touched our lives in so many ways. We love getting together with them to celebrate their personal triumphs over cancer.”
The brunch, sponsored by MVHS, is celebrated in communities across the world. This day provides an opportunity for all people living with a history of cancer – including America’s 18 million cancer survivors – to connect with each other, celebrate milestones and recognize the healthcare providers, family and friends who have supported them along the way. Extravagant baskets, donated by MVHS employees, are raffled off at the brunch.
National Cancer Survivors Day celebrates advances made in cancer research and treatment, recognizing those who are dedicated to caring for cancer patients. Cancer survivors are honored for their strength and courage, and the contributions of their families, friends and healthcare providers are also recognized
