On Friday, March 6, 2020, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., the Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS), in collaboration with healthcare students from both Mohawk Valley Community College (MVCC) and SUNY Polytechnic Institute, will again offer free health screenings to the public at the American Heart Association’s Healthy for Good Expo. The Expo is held in the Clark Athletic Center at Utica College, located at 1600 Burrstone Road, Utica.
Attendees will have the opportunity to have their heart-health assessed at a variety of screening booths which include, blood screening to test cholesterol levels, waist circumference measurements, pulmonary function testing, diabetic and stroke risk screening, blood pressure and pulse check and medication counseling.
MVHS employees will also be present at an expo booth to teach attendees about heart health, what types of treatments and procedures are available at MVHS to those facing heart-related diseases and to answer any questions about the MVHS Regional Medical Center.
Parking at the Utica College campus is limited, but several shuttle options are available from the American Heart Association’s office located at 125 Business Park Drive, Utica. Shuttles will run every 15 minutes.
