Twelve area students have been hard at work starting their ownย businesses during the pandemic!
Join us to watch and support our 2021 class of youngย entrepreneurs present โShark Tank-styleโ to real investors…ย to be awarded REAL START-UP MONEY!ย The businesses range from crocheted items, jewelry and aย calendar with custom illustrations to drone/phone repair, a non-profit matching kids in need with dog owners and their dogs and a talented artist who is customizing sneakers. Students range from 12-18 years old (7th-12th grade) and represent Utica, Rome and New Hartford schools.

Program Partners for the Young Entrepreneurs Academy include: M&T Partners Trust Bank Charitable Fund, Berkshire Bank, First Source Federal Credit Union, The Observer-Dispatch, WUTR and The Greater Utica Chamber of Commerce.
The Chamberโs new executive director Kariย Puleo will be a judge for the event the year. One student at the Investor Panel will be awarded a Chamberย membership and another will be a guest on the Chamberโs podcast. Theย Chamber has been a valued partner for all nine years of the YEA program.

The Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!) is a groundbreaking and exciting program that transformsย local middle and high school students into real, confident entrepreneurs. Through the year-long program,ย students in grades 6-12 generate business ideas, conduct market research, write business plans, pitchย to a panel of investors, and launch their very own companies. YEA is now in 168 communities acrossย America and has been in the Utica area with Mohawk Valley Community College for nine years.
