MVCC offers Educational Opportunity Program, is accepting applicants for Fall 2020 Mohawk Valley Community College recently was approved to offer the state-funded Educational Opportunity Program (EOP), which provides access, academic support, and financial assistance to make higher education possible for students who are educationally and economically disadvantaged but have the potential to succeed in college. Many students have the drive and dream to go to college, but face financial burdens, as well as overwhelming and unfamiliar application processes. EOP gives those students the chance and the tools needed to succeed in college with a network of year-round support services for academic, financial, and personal issues. There is a limited number of spots in EOP; in selecting students for the program, priority is given to applicants from historically disadvantaged backgrounds.

To be eligible for admission to EOP at MVCC, a student must:

*   Be New York State resident for 12 months prior to enrollment;

*   Be a high school graduate with a C average (70-81 on a 100-point scale), or have a GED (General Equivalency Diploma); and

*   Qualify as economically disadvantaged according to specific guidelines. For example, in a household of three, the income must not exceed $39,461; in a household of four, income must not exceed $47,638. (See the full chart of income guidelines at www.mvcc.edu/eop.
