Enjoy live music, food trucks, and fun as Munson celebrates Pride Month with a First Friday Summer Celebration from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 7, in the Sculpture Grove at the Museum of Art in Downtown Utica. First Friday admission is $5 for the general public and free for Munson Members. Munson Members can also bring a guest for free, and their first drinks will be free. In the event of rain, the celebration will be held in the Edward Wales Root Court.
Attendees will enjoy live music by Transient Kicks, a rock band from Syracuse known for their dreamy, atmospheric sound that blends lyrical storytelling with musical improvisation, and will have the opportunity to interact with Munson’s assistant curator of American Art, Elizabeth Welch, as she discusses Paul Cadmus, the “Sailor Painter,” and Rosa Bonheur, a “Boy in Petticoats.” There will also be an art demo by painter and Pratt Munson faculty Chad Smith.
Munson Pride merchandise, including T-shirts, will be available at the Museum pop-up shop in the Grove at special one-day discounts, and on-site food trucks include Scott’s Tots and Paco’s Empanadas.
This event is sponsored by Honorine Wallack, Baird Private Wealth Management.
